The Barrymore Hotel and Waterworks Bar and Grill welcome a new Executive Chef to their talented team. Introducing Gabriel Townsend, a Dayton, Ohio native who recently moved to Tampa, FL. 

Gabriel began cooking at the age of 10 alongside his father, running three family restaurants. Townsend took a leap of faith and left Ohio at the age of 18 to attend Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. After receiving his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, he has worked in numerous high-end resorts, casinos and restaurants.

Townsend relocated to Tampa in May of 2017. "It has been a blessing working in a few well-established restaurants in the area until I found The Barrymore. I am blessed to be a part of the team, and [I look forward to] continuing to provide great food and guest satisfaction. Eat well, and enjoy all of life!" We couldn't agree more, Gabriel.
